How to Make Flashcards with AI in Three Steps
Three steps, nothing to set up
Paste Your Notes
Paste class notes, a lecture transcript, a textbook chapter or an article, up to 15,000 characters, about 2,500 words.
Pick How Many Cards
Choose up to 10, 20 or 30 cards. A short text gives fewer, because the tool makes one card per idea and never pads the deck.
Study or Export
Flip through the cards and mark the ones you know, or copy and download them as tab-separated text that Quizlet and Anki import.
Why Use Our Free AI Flashcard Maker
What it does with your notes
Free to Use, No Account
Make flashcards for free, with 10 uses a day across all our AI tools. No account, no card, and up to 15,000 characters a run.
One Idea per Card
Each card asks one question about a definition, a fact, a cause and effect, a step or a formula, in the order your notes cover them.
Faithful to Your Notes
The cards keep every number, date, name and formula exactly as written and never add facts your notes do not contain, so you revise what you will be tested on.
Ready for Quizlet and Anki
Study the deck right here with flip cards and a mastered count, or copy or download it as tab-separated text that Quizlet and Anki can import.

Teachers and Tutors
Turn a lesson handout into a set of review cards for a class, then import them into Quizlet or Anki to share with students.
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions people ask
How does the AI flashcard maker work?
Paste your notes, pick how many cards you want and click Make Flashcards. The AI reads the text, finds the definitions, facts, steps and formulas worth testing, and writes one question and answer card for each, in the order your notes cover them.
Is the flashcard maker free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up. Free use covers 10 requests a day, shared across every Primo Notes AI tool, and the allowance resets every 24 hours. Each run takes up to 15,000 characters of text.
Can I import the flashcards into Quizlet or Anki?
Yes. Copy or Download gives one card per line with the question and the answer separated by a tab. In Quizlet, paste it into Import with Tab between term and definition. In Anki, import the downloaded file as plain text with Tab as the field separator.
How many flashcards can I make at once?
Choose up to 10, 20 or 30 cards per run. A short text gives fewer cards than you asked for, because the tool makes one card per idea and does not repeat a fact to fill the deck.
What text can I turn into flashcards?
Class notes, lecture or YouTube transcripts, textbook chapters, articles and study sheets, in any language. The cards are written in the language of the text you paste.
Will the flashcards be accurate?
The maker is told to use only what your text says and to keep every number, date, name and formula exactly as written, so it does not add outside facts. It can still miss a nuance, so check anything you will be graded on against your notes.
Can I make flashcards from a lecture recording?
This web tool works on text. The Primo Notes app records a lecture, transcribes it and turns it into notes, flashcards and a quiz on your phone.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the page, paste your notes and make the cards. There is no sign-up and no personal information to enter.
